Telecom backdown welcomed
Northland MP John Carter has welcomed Telecom’s decision to change its connection fees.
“Pressure from National and other parties has made a real difference. I’m pleased that Telecom have been open-minded and have listened to the concerns raised by rural communities
“Under the original plan a lot of households simply wouldn’t have been able to afford a phone, even for some areas close to major towns.
“The new pricing plan is a good compromise that is fair to rural people and Telecom,” said Mr Carter.
