Greens won’t even support our own troops
National’s Deputy Leader Roger Sowry says he is disgusted at the Green and Progessive Coalition parties for turning down a motion of support in Parliament today for New Zealand troops who are heading to the Gulf.
“It is disgraceful that neither party would allow a motion of support to be passed. The motion was non-controversial and simply wished our troops a safe and successful mission.
“New Zealand has a role to play in fighting terrorism, especially after the Bali bombing right on our own doorstep.
“The Greens and Progressives may not agree with the war against terrorism but refusing to even wish our troops a safe journey is just petty politics,” said Mr Sowry.
