SAS Injuries Bring Home Reality of Warfare
The wounding of three New Zealand SAS soldiers in Afghanistan yesterday brings home the reality of warfare and the perils that our armed forces face, ACT Defence and Foreign Affairs Spokesman Hon Ken Shirley said today.
"We all extend our very best wishes to these servicemen and their families, and wish them a speedy recovery.
"New Zealand's contribution to the anti-terrorism campaign in Afghanistan is important, but we must always remember that it is the brave soldiers deliberately placed in harm's way who carry the greatest risk on our behalf," Mr Shirley said.
