Armstrong Quits - Government Still in Firing Line
The National Party says TVNZ chairman Dr Ross Armstrong's clearly fallen on his sword to protect his close friend the
Prime Minister.
"But Helen Clark still needs to front up and answer more tough questions on Dr Armstrong's so-called insider group,"
says National's acting leader Roger Sowry.
"He may have gone but that's just part of the process, we need complete transparency in this issue."
"National believes the PPP proposal, as defended by Dr Armstrong, borders on corruption and has the potential to taint
our Government processes," says Mr Sowry.
"We, on behalf of the New Zealand taxpayer, want to know exactly what documents Helen Clark's office has on this
subject?
"We want to know what instructions, if any, she gave Dr Armstrong as he was putting together this insider group?
"And we demand to know if Dr Armstrong's entitled to any pay-out or if he's spent any money from the public purse on
this fiasco," says Mr Sowry.
