Response to Armstrong statement
Acting Prime Minister Michael Cullen today accepted Dr Ross Armstrong’s public expression of regret at the embarrassment caused to the government over his handling of the Public Private Partnership issue.
“I note Dr Armstrong’s explanation of his intentions but reaffirm that in the circumstances it would not be appropriate for him to take any role in working with the government to develop PPP policy.
“At his request, I have agreed to meet with him in the near future to discuss matters.
“I have nothing more to add to the comments I have already made on this subject so will be making no further statement at this stage,” Dr Cullen said.
