Government and Canterbury Info-tech Forum
The first government-organised regional information and communications technology (ICT) forum will be held at Jade Corporation in Christchurch on 17 October 2002, State Services Minister Trevor Mallard announced today.
“The aim of this event is to inform the local ICT industry of the major technology directions within government, and to encourage more strategic partnerships and alliances between agencies and private industry to help improve government use of technology,” Trevor Mallard said.
The event, which the minister will open, has been coordinated by the State Service Commission’s E-government Unit and Industry New Zealand.
It has the support of the Christchurch Software Cluster and the Canterbury Development Corporation.
Representatives from several government agencies and many leading Christchurch-based software and technology companies will be attending the forum.
