Cullen to Hong Kong, London, United States
Finance Minister Michael Cullen leaves New Zealand on Sunday to attend the Commonwealth Finance Ministers’ Meeting in
London and the IMF/World Bank Meetings in Washington DC.
He will spend September 23 in Hong Kong en route to London. Appointments in Hong Kong include: Secretary for Commerce,
Industry and Technology, Henry Tang; Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, Joseph Yam; Chief Secretary,
Donald Tsang; Financial Secretary, Antony Leung; Chief Executive, Tung Chee Hwa and the Managing Director of Jardine
Matheson Ltd, Percy Weatherall.
Dr Cullen will also address a lunch hosted by the New Zealand Hong Kong Business Association.
When in London, Dr Cullen will meet with the Deputy Prime Minister, John Prescott; the Chancellor of the Exchequer,
Gordon Brown; the Governor of the Bank of England, Sir Edward George; the Vice Chairman of Barclay’s Capital, Euan
Harkness and the Managing Director of Standard and Poors, David Beers.
He will meet Standard and Poors at 2am on 24 September, New Zealand time.
Dr Cullen has several bilaterals planned with senior members of the Bush Administration while in DC.
He will give investment presentations in New York and Boston. In New York, he will also call on Moody’s Investor
Services. He is meeting Moody’s at 6.30am, 2 October, NZ time.
In San Francisco, the final leg of the trip, Dr Cullen will visit Silicon Valley and meet with senior executives of
Oracle.
