The worm bites back
United Future MP Bernie Ogilvy is stretching credibility to think he should receive a real Doctorate after serving as a
volunteer at the 1984 Olympic Games, says National's Deputy Leader Roger Sowry.
"This smacks of the John Davy saga all over again and it is just a shame this more detailed scrutiny of United Future
candidates didn't happen prior to the election.
"The superficiality of United Future is now being exposed and this comes after a week where they voted against their own
principles just to appease the Government. Something they claimed they would never do.
"Who would believe that a political party lead by Peter Dunne would vote to remove the work test for sole parents. This
is something he has always voted for and his past voting record didn't indicate any change in direction.
"The public now will be rightfully feeling extremely sceptical of United Future.
"Since the election, United Future Leader Peter Dunne has had one MP ousted after being found not to be a New Zealand
citizen, another exposed as not being a doctor at all, and a change in direction in the values they claim to hold so
tight. The worm has certainly turned for United Future," says Mr Sowry.
