State Services Briefing To Minister Released
State Services Minister Trevor Mallard today released the briefing paper provided to him by the State Services Commissioner.
“The paper builds on the work that is already underway as a result of the review of the public management system – the Review of the Centre - in 2001” Trevor Mallard said.
“It sets out how the Commission intends to progress that work over the coming years.” he said.
The Review of the Centre identified four key areas to enhance public sector capability: integrating service delivery; addressing fragmentation and improving alignment; enhancing people and culture; improving leadership.
“An efficiently run public service contributes enormously and positively to the life of New Zealanders. The Government is committed to a strong public service that employs quality staff on fair pay and conditions, with managers and chief executives leading by example,” Trevor Mallard said.
