Zimbabwean Exiles Face Threats In NZ
The Government must act urgently on reports that Zanu PF militants are travelling to New Zealand to intimidate and harass people exiled from Zimbabwe, says National's Foreign Affairs spokesman, Dr Wayne Mapp.
"Sources have told me of white farmers living in New Zealand being verbally abused and even receiving death threats.
"Mugabe's actions are terrorising and starving the people of his own country. Our Government must act swiftly, given the real risk that Mugabe could export terrorism to New Zealand.
"His hunger for power is destroying Zimbabwe. What New Zealand and other Commonwealth countries must not tolerate is his utter contempt for human rights and his ignorance of Commonwealth obligations," says Dr Mapp.
