Lesbian Parenting Legislation Dunne’s First Challenge
“The first challenge that Peter Dunne’s United Future is going to face is legislation to provide lesbian partners guardianship rights,” says NZ First MP, Brian Donnelly.
“Legislation which will create guardianship for a lesbian partner with consent of the mother is waiting in the wings.
“The natural father will be able to be excluded as will grandparents. Dunne’s mob will have difficulty explaining to those who voted for them how it can support a government introducing such legislation.
“Most importantly this legislation will inevitably test the consciences of his caucus,” said Mr Donnelly.
