Second Kiwibank Armed Robbery is Matter of Grave Concern
Thursday 4 Jul 2002
The second Kiwibank armed robbery is a matter of grave concern, ACT Finance Spokesman MP Rodney Hide said today.
"Regardless of who is elected in three weeks time, the issue of giving New Zealand Post staff and customers adequate security will have to be tackled.
"One of the business risks that New Zealand Post's consultants originally raised was security, and the impossibility of giving bank-like security to a postal agency.
"If the $80 million that had gone into Kiwibank had gone into better policing, the whole country would have been better off," Mr Hide said.
