2/ Rod Donald. Co-Leader of the Green Party since 1995. Green MP since 1996. Campaigner for electoral reform and national spokesperson for the MMP Campaign, 1989-93. Party spokesperson on Finance, Trade, Regional Development, Electoral Reform. Banks Peninsula candidate.
3/ Sue Bradford. Entered Parliament as a Green Party MP in December 1999 and nominated by commentators as best new MP. Long-time campaigner on social issues, particularly unemployed workers' movement. Spokesperson on Mental Health, Labour, Maori Affairs, ACC and Social Services. Candidate for Rodney.
4/ Nandor Tanczos. "I have been in Aotearoa from the age of seven. I have lived in buses, benders and houses. I have been on the dole, an editor, a tutor, a student and a founding director of the Hempstore Aotearoa, among other things. Best of all, I have found good friends." An MP since 1999. Spokesperson on Justice, Youth, Tertiary Education. Candidate for Auckland Central.
5/ Sue Kedgley. Journalist, author, UN worker, Wellington City Councillor and, since 1999, MP. A long standing safe food campaigner and Convenor of the Safe Food Campaign for six years prior to entering Parliament. Spokesperson on Health, Safe Food, Transport, Women's Affairs. Candidate for Wellington Central.
6/ Ian Ewen-Street. Geologist, Outward Bound instructor, organic farmer and - since 1999 - MP. Green Party parliamentary Musterer (Whip) and spokesperson on Agriculture, Biosecurity, Forestry and Education. Candidate for Kaikoura.
7/ Keith Locke. MP since 1999. Veteran peace campaigner and involved in all kinds of Auckland community issues, from housing to transport to protection of local parks. Spokesperson on Foreign Affairs, Immigration, Defence, Associate Transport. Candidate for Epsom.
8/ Metiria Turei. Completed her law degree while a solo parent on the DPB. Member of the New Zealand Maori Lawyers Society. "Justice belongs to us all, including our environment and the non-human species that we share our whenua with." Aged 32. Candidate for Tamaki Makaurau.
9/ Mike Ward. Former Values Party co-leader. Four terms on the Nelson City Council, three terms as committee chair. Multi-sports athlete (contested every Coast-to-Coast) and winner at Wearable Art awards. Out-of-Parliament speaker on Arts and Culture and Local Government. Candidate for Nelson.
10/ Catherine Delahunty. A leader of the anti-mining movement that successfully fought open-cast gold mining in Coromandel. Greenpeace campaigner for four years. Started first high school students' union in New Zealand (aged 15.) Candidate for East Coast.
11/ Roland Sapsford. As coordinator of the Greens' policy and research group, Roland has been at the heart of political negotiations with the Government for the last three years. A leader of the long-running campaign against the inner-city "bypass" through historic Te Aro and passionate community advocate.
12/ Dr Meriel Watts. Director, Soil & Health Association, pesticides campaigner, on the Board of Directors of BIO-GRO. Member of the MAF-appointed Community Advisory Group for the campaign to eradicate the painted apple moth. Candidate for Waitakere
13/ Jon Carapiet. Consumer Advocate, Researcher, writer, artist. National spokesperson for GE-Free NZ (in food and environment) and a spokesperson for the Auckland GE-Free Coalition. Candidate for Mt Albert
14/ Richard Davies. Gay man with three sons in their early twenties, one Pakeha, one Maori (Ngati Toa), and one Samoan. Has worked as a Secondary Teacher, VSA in Africa, an Anglican priest, organic farmer, a guesthouse operator and a candidate in three parliamentary elections. Spokesperson on gay and lesbian issues. Candidate for West Coast-Tasman.
15/ Celia Wade-Brown. Elected to Wellington City Council in 1994 and re-elected in 1995 & 2001 (highest polling in ward). Stood on Greens list while in UK in 1999. Founding chair of community computer access group 2020 Communications Trust and of pedestrian advocacy group WalkWellington. Candidate for Rongotai.
16/ Cathy Olsen. At 22, youngest candidate in the list top 20. Past president of Waikato Student Union, active in the Multiple Sclerosis Waikato Trust, eager to promote youth issues at a national level. Candidate for Hamilton East.
17/ Russel Norman. Coordinator for Keep GE in the Lab rally which attracted 15,000 people in Auckland earlier this year. Active in the anti-native logging campaign in Australia. Currently Parliamentary Secretary to Sue Bradford MP. Candidate for Rimutaka
18/ Janine McVeagh. Writer, publisher and teacher. Currently teaching writing at Rawene Campus for Northland Polytech. Council member of NZ Society of Authors. Candidate for Northland.
19/ Steffan Browning. Marlborough's most experienced marine farm activist. Retailer (Clean GreeNZ Organics) since 97. Operates NZ's largest certified organic heated glasshouses.
20/ Dayle Belcher. Union Organiser for Service & Food Workers Union and Co-Convener of Southland CTU Local Affiliates Council. Candidate for Clutha-Southland
