Informal talks continue
Education Minister Trevor Mallard said informal meetings between government negotiators would continue this week over the secondary teacher dispute.
“The government is working to resolve the issue as soon as possible,” Trevor Mallard said.
“We are currently waiting for the PPTA to table a formal claim and when that happens government negotiators are ready to start negotiations.
“It is my understanding that could happen later this week. Formal negotiations will commence after the PPTA has consulted with members.
“I hope that a reasonable claim will be lodged – realistically, something that sits between the April claim and the May settlement.
“In the meantime we are meeting informally so that resolution can be as quick as possible,” Trevor Mallard said.
