Brash = High interest rates for families
“National’s decision to put Don Brash high on its party list confirms that National wants high interest rates,” said Economic Development Minister Jim Anderton.
“Don Brash is on record opposing home ownership and believes that interest rates are not high enough.
“For someone with an average home loan an increase of 1 per cent in interest rates would cost $100 a month.
National’s high interest rate policies will destroy jobs, reduce profits and increase costs for kiwi families.
“Since 2000 New Zealand has enjoyed much lower interest rates than the National Party imposed in the previous decade. As Economic Development Minister I am committed to lower interest rates because New Zealanders can’t afford the $100 a month Don Brash will cost them,” said Jim Anderton.
Jim Anderton will release a detailed analysis of Don Brash’s high interest rates fetish during the campaign.
