Cullen's comments cause dollar to drop
Dr Cullen's comments on the New Zealand dollar today show yet again this Labour government's complete commercial ineptness, says National's Finance spokesperson David Carter.
"First we have the Prime Minister, Helen Clark commenting on Air NZ shares which deservedly earnt her a rebuke from the Securities Commission and now we have Dr Cullen causing volatility in the New Zealand dollar by making inappropriate comments.
"It is absolutely inappropriate for a Finance Minister to comment on the level of currency and the immediate reaction from the markets has highlighted the stupidity of Dr Cullen's comment, "says Mr Carter.
