Ministers Must Take Responsibility For Maori TV

The Davy/Fox Maori Television Service debacle is fast becoming a farce, ACT Broadcasting Spokesman MP Penny Webster said today.
"It seems that the real people responsible for this whole affair are getting away scot-free. The Minister of Maori Affairs and the Minister of Finance are not taking any responsibility when they should be. This is all taxpayer money. Just to give a bundle of money to an inexperienced group and say "go for it" seems bizarre.
"The Government interferes too much in TVNZ - just look at the Charter. Yet after throwing money at the Maori Television Service, they've passed the buck.
"This is a disaster and the Ministers should be held accountable," Mrs Webster said.
