Commerce Minister Paul Swain announced two re-appointments and one new appointment to the Securities Commission today.
The members re-appointed are:
Liz Hickey
Liz Hickey, who has been re-appointed for one year, brings her wealth of professional experience as well as her working
knowledge of the Commission to the role. A chartered accountant with 25 years experience, Ms Hickey is a consultant who
specialises in advising on complex accounting, reporting and disclosure issues. While a partner at Ernest & Young she was involved in advising major corporates undertaking acquisitions and financing transactions. Ms Hickey is
on the Board of Governors of Radio New Zealand, a member of the Accounting Standards Review Board, and a former
Chairperson of the Financial Reporting Standards Board.
Joanna Perry
Ms Perry has been a chartered accountant at KPMG for 23 years - 13 years as a partner specialising in technical issues
for large corporates. She has been involved in auditing and special assignments in New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
For nine years Ms Perry has been a member of the Financial Reporting Standards Board. Ms Perry will continue to make a
valuable contribution to the work of the Commission with her skill in analysing financial transactions. She has been
re-appointed for a five-year term.
The new member, appointed for five years is:
Annabel Cotton
Ms Cotton is an Auckland based investment analyst and accountant who has specialised in investor relations since 1990.
She has previously worked for Telecom & Air New Zealand. Since 1999 she has acted as a consultant to various New Zealand listed companies. She has also worked
with companies listed on the NZSE, New York Stock Exchange, NASDAQ and the Australian Stock Exchange. Ms Cotton has
recently been heavily involved with the separation of the Fletcher Challenge letter stocks. She is a director of Enigma
Nominees Ltd and Merlin Consulting Ltd. Ms Cotton possesses the analytical skills and market knowledge required for
serving on the Commission.
