The Green Party has announced that Cate Faehrmann has been appointed Campaign Manager for the 2002 election.
Cate has had wide experience of politics and campaigning in Australia as an activist, campaign organiser and Green Party candidate.
She has served as Campaign Co-ordinator and Convenor of the South Australian Greens, Convenor of the Australian Greens’ National Election Campaign Committee and was also lead Senate candidate for the South Australian Greens in last year’s elections.
“I’m delighted we’ve been able to recruit a person of Cate’s calibre to manage our election campaign,” Green Party Co-leader, Rod Donald said of the appointment.
“It’s a further example of the close cooperation between the Australian and New Zealand Greens.
“We expect to benefit from her extensive experience in Australia and when she returns, we hope that she will be able to make use of her experience of MMP here.”
Cate, 32, is looking forward to bringing a fresh approach to campaigning in this country.
“We want to transcend boundaries,” said Cate. “We’ll tap into youth networks, as well as the more traditional media, but we want to get the message out to people right across the board: you can make a difference by voting Green.”
