Acting Labour Leader Michael Cullen announced today that the Labour caucus had endorsed the recent report on MPs’ remuneration and expenses.
“The caucus accepts that the present system has to change to a more transparent one. The proposed recommendations seem the fairest possible approach and Labour will be supporting the necessary legislation.
“I have advised the Speaker of the House of Labour’s decision,” Dr Cullen said.
The changes will be legislated for this term for application in the next Parliament.
