Greens Ask: 'Where Are Asians In The Police?'
Shouldn't The Question Be: 'Where Are The Asians In The Greens?'
New Zealand First is asking how the Green Party, the most homogeneous, white, Anglo-Saxon, middle-class party in Parliament, is allowed to get away with calls for calls for more Asians in the police.
“The Greens should remember that people in glasshouses shouldn’t throw stones. A quick look at the Greens’ list shows that there are even less Asians in their list than in the police—none to be precise.
“The ‘world view’ behind the Greens’ call for more Asians in the police is deeply flawed. They seem to think that police who are not Asian are not capable of dealing with Asian crime. They seem to think that the Police are a big cultural group. The fact is that Police do a good job and are trained to deal with whatever comes up, regardless of the racial background of those involved.
