Marian Hobbs has been confirmed as Labour's Wellington Central candidate for the General Election.
Hers was the only nomination and received unanimous backing from the local party organisation last night, the chair of the Labour Electorate Committee, Ruth Chapman said.
"We are thrilled Marian will again be seeking to represent Wellington Central and we are confident the electorate will recognise the excellent work she has done by returning her to Parliament," Ruth Chapman said.
Marian Hobbs said she is looking forward to a vigorous election campaign.
"I am proud to have been a voice for Wellington in this government," Marian Hobbs said. "We have kept our promises and we are making a positive difference in people's lives. There is much more to be achieved and I look forward to continuing to be a part of it.
"I am a firm believer in democracy and relish the opportunity to stake my record against all comers."
Marian Hobbs holds Wellington Central with a majority of 1482 votes.
