Webster Welcomes National's Endorsement Of ACT Auckland Transport Policy
Thursday 7 Feb 2002
ACT Transport Spokesman MP Penny Webster said today that it was heartening that Bill English had followed ACT's roading policy for Auckland to fast-track the RMA process, open Auckland up to toll roads, and make a clear commitment to completing the roading network.
"ACT has been pushing this policy for five years. The shocking under-development of Auckland's roading network is costing Auckland and New Zealand income and jobs, and causing endless frustration to Aucklanders wanting to go about their business and their pleasure.
"Auckland business is united in what needs to be done. ACT has heard them loud and clear. We are pleased that Bill English has also," Mrs Webster said.
