Predictions Of More Strikes Under ERA Proved Correct
Thursday 24 Jan 2002
Predictions that Labour's Employment Relations Act would result in more strikes, are being proved correct, ACT leader Richard Prebble said today.
"What's of most concern is the trend. Each quarter, the number of shrikes continues to rise and it's clear that with the serious industrial problems in health, industrial relations is continuing to deteriorate.
"The Labour/Alliance government appears to be caught by surprise and, as they've demonstrated in the nurses' strike, the government has no answer to the deteriorating industrial situation.
"The only thing certain is it's going to get worse as long as the ERA is in existence," Mr Prebble said.
