The Christchurch TAB shambles shows the betting agency's legislative monopoly needs to be removed, ACT Racing Spokesman MP Penny Webster said today.
"Things are clearly a mess. After just a cursory inspection, TAB has already discovered two agencies in one city conducting credit betting. How many more will be uncovered?
"The TAB needs competition so that agencies lift their game. At the moment, it's a one horse race. The Government must remove the legislative monopoly it has granted to TAB."
