Advisory: Waitangi Arrangements

Governor-General Dame Silvia Cartwright and Prime Minister Helen Clark will visit Waitangi on February 5 and 6.
On 5 February they will attend a powhiri on the Waitangi National Marae. On Waitangi Day the official party will attend events beginning with a dawn karakia on the National Marae. The Prime Minister will host a breakfast for local Northland leaders before leaving Waitangi for other Waitangi Day events elsewhere. Further details will be issued later.
The Prime Minister thanked Te Tai Tokerau MP and Under-Secretary Dover Samuels, the Tai Tokerau District Maori Council and the Waitangi Day Organising Committee for their work in making the visit possible.
