New Zealand First Leader, Rt Hon Winston Peters has made the following statement::
“We have received a copy of a letter from the Sate Services Commissioner to the Minister of Defence, Mark Burton. We appreciate that further investigation is warranted, as the letter suggests, and at this time we appreciate the level of seriousness of these investigations which are not yet completed.
“Clearly a party, or parties, is not telling the truth and the Commissioner has plainly made that point.
“What is not in dispute is that Ron Mark’s personal military records were accessed, then non-military personnel saw this information, in one case a Public Relations firm that has a record of working for the army.
“We intend to press on with this matter.
