Queensland Premier Visits NZ

Tourism Minister Mark Burton will be hosting a visit to New Zealand this week by the Premier of Queensland, Peter Beattie.
The Premier will be in Wellington on Tuesday (18 December) and Auckland on Wednesday (19 December).
The Premier’s visit is largely tourism focused. While in Wellington, the Premier will meet with the Prime Minister, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Minister for Research, Science and Technology. The Premier has promoted Queensland as a science and technology ‘hub’, and will be discussing building links with New Zealand in the S area.
In Auckland, the Premier will be attending a Tourism Queensland Forum and lunch. He will also be meeting with Air New Zealand executives and the Mayor of Auckland, and visiting Genesis R Corporation Ltd and the Americas Cup Village.
Peter Beattie will be accompanied by Merri Rose, the Queensland Minister for Racing, Tourism and Fair Trading.
