2000/01 Financial Review of the Ministry of Māori Development
(Te Puni Kōkiri)
Parliament’s Māori Affairs Committee today tabled its report on the 2000/01 financial review of Te Puni Kōkiri in the
House of Representatives.
Main areas examined by the committee were:
background to the ministry
effectiveness in ‘Reducing Inequalities’
The committee noted that Te Puni Kōkiri received ‘good’ audit assessments of financial and service performance
management. These have all remained consistent from the 1999/2000 financial review. The committee is pleased to note
that Te Puni Kōkiri is maintaining a ‘good’ level of financial and service performance management assessments.
The committee noted that some robust information was received from Te Puni Kōkiri regarding benchmarks and evaluations
of the ‘Reducing Inequalities’ programmes.
