Gaming Review Cabinet Papers Released
Cabinet papers relating to the Government's review of all gaming legislation have been released by the Minister for Internal Affairs, George Hawkins.
The Responsible Gambling Bill will be introduced into the House shortly and referred to the select committee before Christmas. The public will have an opportunity to make submissions on the bill at that stage.
Mr Hawkins said that he decided to make the gaming review papers considered by Cabinet available to the public in the interests of open government and to promote informed public discussion of the issues.
"I strongly believe in the principles of open government and I hope the information included in these documents will assist people in making submissions to the select committee," Mr Hawkins said.

The Gaming Review cabinet papers and associated ministerial decisions can be found on the Department of Internal Affairs website, www.dia.govt.nz from 2 pm today
