Bradford selected as Rodney candidate for next election
Green MP Sue Bradford today said she would be running a hard campaign to win the seat of Rodney at the next election
after the Rodney branch of the Greens elected her as their candidate last night.
Ms Bradford who has lived in Rodney for seven years was elected unopposed as the Greens' Rodney candidate. She is the
first Green to be selected as an electorate candidate in New Zealand for next years general election.
"I am really pleased to have been nominated and I can promise the people of Rodney that I will continue fighting very
hard to promote the issues facing Rodney.
"I plan to win the seat so as to formally represent Rodney in parliament," she said.
"I believe it is time for a change in Rodney and I believe the Green solutions to problems such as unemployment,
poverty, mental health, transport and regional economic development are right for the region."
Ms Bradford said membership of the Rodney Greens had grown exponentially since the last election.
"I have a strong, enthusiastic campaign team and I am looking forward to a hard and clean election campaign next year.
It is a fight that I really want to win."
