Mature Drivers Guide Launch
Transport Minister Mark Gosche will launch a national guide for mature drivers in Auckland on Friday.
This guide provides useful, straightforward information for mature drivers about road rules, the driver licensing system and other issues of interest to older drivers.
There are approximately 34,000 drivers aged over 75 on New Zealand roads.
Venue: Hillsborough Room, Fickling Convention Centre, 546 Mt Albert Road, Mount Roskill Auckland
Time: 12 – 1pm.
Format: Bill Crook, senior education officer for the Land Transport Safety Authority, will speak briefly about Safe with Age courses. Minister will then launch the guide and present Safe with Age course certificates to recent graduates.
There will then be an opportunity for photos with the Minister being driven by a mature driver.
Safe with Age courses are community classes run by mature drivers to teach others what they need to know to drive safely.
