Caucus to decide leadership
National Deputy Leader Bill English said tonight Jenny Shipley had served the National Party and New Zealand with distinction.
"Mrs Shipley has held the National caucus together through an election defeat and provided New Zealand with a stable Government through the difficult transition to MMP.
"The job of filling the leadership vacancy is entirely in the hands of the caucus and I won't be commenting further until the caucus has resolved the matter," Mr English said
