Labour Spin Wrong: Brain Drain Continues

Newspaper headlines stating the brain drain has reversed are nonsense, ACT Immigration Spokesman MP Penny Webster said today.
"Labour's spin machine is selling the message that New Zealanders are rushing home because of the September 11 terrorist attacks.
"Obviously, people think of home when catastrophes like this happen. That doesn't mean they are going to return in droves.
"The bottom line has to be that there is nothing that this Government has done that is bringing anybody home.
"Monthly figures show that more and more of our brightest graduates are leaving for good. War-ravaged refugees are no replacement.
"If the Government becomes hijacked by the Greens and seriously contemplates a further moratorium on GE, we will see our scientific graduates joining the nurses, doctors and other professionals abroad.
"The few young people who do return because of terrorist attacks or family pressure will soon leave again when things settle down, and they get a reminder of life in New Zealand under Labour," Mrs Webster said.
