New GSF Authority Established

Basil Logan will chair the newly established Government Superannuation Authority.
Other members are Colin Blair, Helen Bowie, David May, Tim McGuinness and Susie Weaver.
Announcing the appointments today, Finance Minister Michael Cullen said he was pleased with the board's composition.
"I think it has the right mix of skills and experience for this important job."
Dr Cullen emphasised that the change would not in any way affect the rights or benefits of GSF members
Responsibility for the GSF will pass to the new Authority on 3 October, 2001.
Basil Logan has extensive public and private sector board experience. He is the Chairman of Opus International Consultants, Cedenco Foods Ltd and Optixlab Sdn Bhd [Malaysia]. He is a director of Interlock Industries Ltd and a member of the Courts Executive Council.
Colin Blair is the Retirement Commissioner.
Helen Bowie is a partner at Chapman Tripp Sheffield Young.
David May was formerly Chief Executive of Jacques Martin NZ Ltd and Managing Director of Colonial Life NZ Ltd.
Tim McGuinness held the senior investment management position at Norwich Union Investment Management and Royal Sun Alliance.
Susie Weaver is a principle of Weaver Consulting Ltd and a former General Manager of Investments at Armstrong Jones.
