Published: Tue 31 Jul 2001 12:38 AM
Defence Minister Mark Burton said he had been briefed on the results of the Court of Inquiry conducted by the RNZAF into the Skyhawk crash which claimed the life of Squadron Leader Murray Neilson.
"I am satisfied that the accident has been thoroughly investigated," Mark Burton said, "and it is appropriate for the Air Force to comment on the steps being taken to implement the Court's recommendations.
"However, renewed discussion of this tragic accident will inevitably cause further distress for the family and friends of Squadron Leader Neilson.
"I again offer my condolences on behalf of the government to all those who were close to Murray," Mark Burton said.
