Methinks Pete Hodgson Doth Protest Too Much

Pete Hodgson has utterly failed to explain how he plans to invoke Kyoto Protocol restrictions, ACT MP Gerry Eckhoff said today.
"Mr Hodgson claims to have ruled out 2000 Treasury advice that he must hike petrol taxes by 70 cents in order to comply with the Kyoto Protocol's carbon dioxide restrictions.
"Mr Hodgson has accused me of having 'kangaroos in the top paddock'. At least there is activity in my top paddock, which is more than I could say for Mr Hodgson and his Government.
"The fact that Mr Hodgson even considered taxing flatulent cows shows how asinine his Government's thinking is.
"The World is starting to recognise that global warming is a figment of politicians' imagination. It is an effective means of wealth distribution which appeases the conscience of the industrialised Western world.
"Climatologists are refuting the claims of pseudo-scientists, showing that global warming is a product of a natural cycle. Yet Mr Hodgson is determined to make New Zealanders pay for his doomsday fantasies," Gerry Eckhoff said.
