National Shows True Colours with Continued Politicking Over Super - Peters
The Rt Hon Winston Peters MP, Leader of New Zealand First, today said the continued politicking of Bill English and the National Party on superannuation only serves to highlight the type of destructive political games that the public have had to put up with for years on this issue.
“Besides what is National’s super policy?
“8 years after the referendum on MMP the National Party still show no appreciation or understanding of the consensus and constructive co-operation that the present political system requires. They are no closer to understanding what it takes to make MMP work than they were on the day they selected Jenny Shipley to gut the New Zealand First/National Coalition Government.
“With a Deputy Leader now, as well as a Leader, so out of touch and lacking in the leadership qualities that are needed in politics today one can ALMOST understand why National is so desperate as to consider getting a person like Michelle Boag to try and bring their Party into the 21st Century.
“Any success Michelle Boag has had thus far can be directly attributed to the lack of leadership shown by Bill English and Jenny Shipley and their complete inability to display any of the constructive qualities that are needed in New Zealand Politics in 2001,” said Mr Peters.
