Hobbs Must Go Further
Friday 11th May 2001 Penny Webster Media Release -- Other
ACT Broadcasting Spokesman Penny Webster said today that she was pleased that the Minister of Broadcasting took her advice to express faith in TVNZ staff, but said Ms Hobbs had not gone far enough.
“I join with Murray McCully in calling for the TVNZ Board Chairman, Ross Armstrong, to be replaced,” Penny Webster said.
“Especially in this rocky time, TVNZ needs a chairman whom the staff respect and admire. This latest debacle in this has proven that employees have no faith in the Chairman.
“It is an open secret that TVNZ is haemorrhaging – talented staff are escaping while they still can.
“It is time for Ms Hobbs to prove to everybody that she has integrity, and real confidence in TVNZ staff, by replacing the Chairman,” Penny Webster said.
