11 April
BP is giving motorists an early Easter present by dropping petrol and diesel prices 10 cents a litre nation-wide from
6am Thursday, 12 April.
The price promotion runs until 6pm on Good Friday (13 April).
BP’s Managing Director Peter Griffiths said BP wants to reward loyal customers and attract even more people on to its
forecourts.
“We promise motorists that BP will always have the best possible fuel prices.”
Mr Griffiths said it is a fascinating time for the New Zealand petrol industry as oil companies jostle for customers.
“My view is that pricing is just one aspect of the business. The reality is that fuel prices are more or less the same
regardless of which oil company you use. Therefore, oil companies need to offer more than competitive fuel prices to
keep customers coming back.
“As well as excellent fuel prices, BP offers service, superior cleaner-burning fuels and a range of groceries at
supermarket prices at selected service stations.”
BP is currently unveiling its re-branded, revamped service stations called BP Connect nation-wide.
Each Connect service station has a 24 hour café selling fresh café-style food and gourmet coffee.
Eight Connect service stations have already opened in the main cities since the beginning of the year with up to 70 to
follow over the next 20 months.
Customers have been quick to appreciate BP Connect with each service station receiving a sizeable boost in sales upon
opening.
