Service providers for expanded low-deposit home ownership programme
Organisations with experience in managing or delivering adult education and other social support services should
consider becoming service providers for Government's low deposit rural lending programme, Housing Minister Mark Gosche
said today.
"We are expanding the regions covered by the Low Deposit Rural Lending (LDRL) Programme and service providers are now
needed in Waikato, Western Bay of Plenty, Central Plateau, King Country, Wanganui and Hawkes Bay," he said.
"The programme enables low-income households and families in predominantly rural locations to qualify for low deposit
home loans. Participants must attend a series of specifically designed housing workshops and we are looking for service
providers who can manage and deliver these workshops."
Currently the Low Deposit Rural Lending Programme is run by the Housing Corporation of New Zealand and operates in the
Far North and Northland as well as parts of the Bay of Plenty, East Coast and northern Hawkes Bay. HCNZ are advertising
for suitable service providers this week with applications closing on the 27 April, 2001 at 5pm.
Mr Gosche said suitable providers will have a proven track record in managing and/or delivering adult education and
other support services.
