Employment Relations Education Advisory Committee Appointed
The group which will support Employment Relations Education under the new employment law has been appointed.
The Labour Minister, Margaret Wilson has appointed employer, employee, Maori, Pacific and tertiary education representatives to the Employment Relations Education Advisory Committee.
The committee will approve courses and funding for educational courses which promote better employment relationships between employers, managers, employees and unions.
The committee members are:
Wilf Malcolm Chair (former Vice Chancellor Waikato University)
Anne Knowles New Zealand Employers Federation
Don Rhodes New Zealand Employers Federation
Paul Goulter New Zealand Council of Trade Unions
Lynn Middleton New Zealand Council of Trade Unions
Grace Sylvester Association of Polytechnics in New Zealand
Tealu Morise Pacific Island representative
Pat Walsh Universities
Anaru Paenga NZQA & Maori
"The new employment laws provide for good faith relationships based on mutual trust and understanding. Education builds understanding, and understanding builds trust," said Ms Wilson.
