Deputy Prime Minister Jim Anderton welcomed the Auditor-General's report clearing Phillida Bunkle of any wrong-doing.
"I am very pleased, but not surprised, with the finding. The Auditor has concluded that Phillida Bunkle acted honestly and reasonably on appropriate advice at all times in claiming the Wellington Accommodation Allowance.
"His conclusion is based on an extensive examination of the issues."
Jim Anderton has discussed the report with Phillida Bunkle. They are now awaiting the report of the Registrar of Electors.
