PRESS RELEASE
19th February 2001
NEW ZEALAND FARMERS FIRST
New Zealand First Agriculture Spokesperson Doug Woolerton MP, has called for an all out attack on Canadian milk subsidies.
“It’s about time we looked after New Zealand’s farmers’ interests instead of preaching “mad right” ideology on free trade to a deaf world.”
New Zealand First welcomes the news that Primary Industries officials are being asked to prepare a case to present to the World Trade Organisation seeking to impose tariffs on Canada’s “special milk”.
“It’s a pity we didn’t do this sooner instead of grandstanding on the international stage as Lockwood Smith was want to do” said Mr Woolerton.
