John Ormond Welcomes Judd's Challenge For The ACT Presidency
Long time ACT Board member and twice-candidate John Ormond welcomed the announcement by Wellington consultant Catherine Judd that she was challenging Mr Ormond for the ACT Presidency.
"I strongly favour the democratising of ACT, and a vigorous contest for the Presidency will be healthy for the party. I have already written to all the members asking for their support, and I am especially pleased at the positive feedback I have received" said Mr Ormond.
Mr Ormond, a Hawkes Bay businessman and farmer formally announced his candidacy for the position of Party President on Tuesday, when Sir Roger Douglas announced his retirement.
