Hawkins Working With Ethnic Business Leaders
Minister of Ethnic Affairs Hon George Hawkins has embarked on a tour of businesses that are owned or managed by Ethnic leaders.
“There are many Ethnic businesspeople who are working hard and achieving business success," George Hawkins said.
Mr Hawkins today visited businessman Stephen Wong's Fresher Foods, a company based in Manukau City.
“Steven is an important leader within the Chinese community in Auckland.
“His business is doing well. Fresher Foods is competing and achieving strong domestic and export sales, and Steven is employing a large number of local residents,” George Hawkins said.
Over the coming months Mr Hawkins hopes to meet with other Ethnic business people throughout the country who are succeeding in business and employing people.
“Ethnic New Zealanders are an asset to this country. They are dedicated and hardworking people who set an excellent example for others to follow,” George Hawkins said.
"I want to meet with Ethnic businesspeople and find out about their achievements,” Ethnic Affairs Minister George Hawkins said.
