Racing taskforce recommendations
Racing Minister Annette King established three racing taskforces, representing northern, central and southern regions, following a Community Racing Forum in Parliament on June 1. The taskforces were required to examine and make recommendations on the administration, funding and future development of racing.
The three taskforces have now completed their work, and the independent chairmen of each taskforce have combined their recommendations in one document to the Minister.
The recommendations are embargoed until 9.30am on Monday, October 2, but copies of the recommendations will be available in Mrs King's office, 18th floor, Bowen House, from 8.30am on October 2.
The Minister will hold a media briefing in her office at 9.30am. The chairperson of the southern taskforce, Sir Kerry Burke, and the Racing Industry Board and TAB chairperson, Mr Rick Bettle, will also be available at the briefing.
