McCully May Accept Mallard Briefing

Published: Tue 26 Sep 2000 04:35 PM
National MP Murray McCully today said he would be happy to consider accepting Trevor Mallard's offer of a special briefing on Government accounting in relation to SOE's, "provided Mr Mallard releases the 25 pages which have either been substantially or wholly deleted from the papers released under the Official Information Act."
"I am grateful to Mr Mallard for his generous offer of assistance in working through the Government accounting issues involved.
"However, for that assistance to be of benefit, I would need to receive the 25 pages which have been either wholly or substantially deleted from the Treasury Budget papers which Dr Cullen released.
"If the Government seriously expects us to believe that it has no plans to strip large lumps of cash out of those SOE's then I have to ask what they are trying to hide by deleting those pages," MR McCully said.
