Housing Appointments

Changes to the Boards of Housing New Zealand and the Housing Corporation were announced by the Minister of Housing Mark Gosche today.
Roger Bonifant, the current Deputy Chairman of Housing New Zealand’s Board and Housing Corporation Board Member will chair both Boards. Roger has been deputy Chair of Housing New Zealand since 1992.
“Roger has made significant contributions to the governance of both organisations during and I am confident will continue to do so in his new position as chairman," said Mr Gosche.
The current Chairman of both organisations, Michael Cashin, completed his extended term as Chairman of Housing New Zealand and Housing Corporation.
“Michael joined Housing New Zealand and Housing Corporation in 1997 as Chairman and has undertaken this role with distinction,” said Mr Gosche.
Mr Gosche also announced the appointment of a new Board Member to Housing New Zealand Board, former Prime Minister, David Lange.
“David needs no introduction bringing a wealth of experience and knowledge to the Board to assist in moving the organisation forward,” said Mr Gosche.
