Tizard Terminated
Opposition Culture and Heritage spokesperson, Simon Upton, says that Judith Tizard's leadership of the Heart of the Nation project has been effectively terminated.
Mr Upton was commenting on the Prime Minister's revelation in a Select Committee today that the economic develop strategy for the arts and heritage sector had been handed to Jim Anderton and Industry New Zealand.
"Helen Clark has, very sensibly, moved swiftly to end the fiasco that has burgeoned since Judith Tizard received the HOT Nation panel's report.
"Having provided so many reasons why the report was unsatisfactory, Judith Tizard has turned what should have been an electoral picnic into a presentational disaster."
Mr Upton said the arts sector would be waiting with baited breath to see whether the normally undemonstrative Mr Anderton would develop the dizzy enthusiasm which Judith Tizard brought to her chequered leadership role.
